Analysis of Medium Truck Market in Jan.-Dec. 2012 I

Part One: General Analysis of Medium Trucks' Sales in 2011-2012
As statistics revealed by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), 3,241,730 trucks (chassis, semi-tractor trucks included) and 3,303,792 trucks were produced and sold respectively in Jan.-Dec. 2012, reaching 6.06% & 6.80% negative year-on-year growth.
In the segment markets of China truck industry, comparing to the same period in 2011, in the sales volume, expect the micro-truck’s sales increased, all the other sales decreased. Among them, the heavy trucks (chassis, semi-tractor trucks included) decreased by 27 percent, which was highest one. The medium truck decreased by 0.58 percent, which was the lowest one. For the market share, the light truck’s still was the highest one, which also increased by 2.74 percent of growth.

From above data, it is seen that only medium truck sales in the second half year of 2012 was higher than the fist half year, which was 7.51 percent higher. And the other segment truck sales in the second half year of 2012 were all lower than the fist half year.

Due to the modified cargo trucks and special vehicles' need, the sales of the medium truck chassis increased slightly, which was the only one in the positive growth.

From above data, it is seen that the sales of complete medium trucks in the second half year of both 2011 & 2012 were higher than the first half year. But the medium truck chassis was opposite.
