Part Two: Analysis of China Medium Truck Market in 2012
In 2012, according to CAAM collected data, there were 20 truck manufacturers who sold their medium trucks. Among them, the accumulative sales of the medium trucks above 10,000 units were 9 truck makers (One more than in 2011). The nine truck makers' medium trucks sales volumes were 259,034 units, which decreased by 1.76 % over same period in 2011. And their market share was 89.24%, down 10.8% over 2011.
There were 6 truck makers who sold 1,000-10,000 medium trucks. And their accumulative sales of the medium trucks were 29,170 units, which increased by 14.99%. And their market share was 10.05%, up 1.36% over 2011.

From above data, it is seen that
1. In 2012, with the market needs decreased, the pattern of the China medium truck market changed some. Among them, the top four truck makers were still Dongfeng Auto, FAW, Chongqing Lifan Auto and Qingling Motors. Sinotruck was up from No. 7 to No. 5. There were 6 truck makers who kept their ranks, five up and four down.
Comparing to the 2011, in 2012, five truck makers’ medium truck sales growth reached higher than 10% , which were Beiqi Foton (+298.78%), Jinbei Auto (+90.07%), Chengdu Dayun (+77.53%), Sinotruck (+51.06%), Hubei Three Ring SPV(+42.98%) and Shandong T-King Durable Truck(+19.42%).
In Jan.-Dec. 2012, the sales volume of Dongfeng Auto’ and FAW’ medium trucks were 120,604 units, which decreased by 3.19% over 2011. And their market share were 41.55%, which decreased by 1.12% over 2011.
As it is known that, medium trucks are regarded as production tool which shows seasons' needs obviously. From the sales growth of the two half-year in 2012, Beiqi Foton was +414.85% in 20112 and 103.11% in 2011 and Chongqing Lifan Auto was +203.56% and Jinbei Auto was +173.77%.
2. Sales of medium truck chassis
As it is known that the medium truck chassis are mainly used for special vehicles and modified vehicles. There were five truck makers manufacturing medium truck chassis. Both FAW and Beiqi Foton reached more than 10% positive growth.
