On March 2, sales report of light trucks was released. In January, China reported sales volume of 133.4 thousand units light trucks, a decrease of 12 percent over the previous year.

According to statistics, Foton Motor, JAC, Dongfeng and Great Wall, 4 companies saw their sales volume exceeding 10,000, which together accounted for 54.20 percent market share.

FAW Jiefang saw the biggest increase in January with a growth of 41 percent year-on-year. Another company achieving a double-digit growth is Great Wall Motor, which is up 17 percent. In January alone, Foton sold 24.8 thousand light trucks and ranked first with a year-on-year increase of 1 percent.

Four companies in Top ten saw a decline of more than 20 percent. One company even dropped by 38 percent on a year-over-year basis, hitting a record low. That was the main reason why the entire light truck market shows a huge decline this month.
