Foton Delivers Electric Trucks to Malaysian Retailer
May 20,2025

The move signals growing momentum for low-carbon transportation in Malaysia’s logistics sector as businesses seek to reduce environmental impact and improve operational efficiency. The delivery is part of Foton’s broader effort to promote sustainable urban logistics in Southeast Asia.
The customer, which operates nearly 1,000 convenience stores nationwide, has a large-scale distribution network and has previously used Foton’s conventional AUMARK trucks. With increasing demand and rising sustainability goals, the company opted to transition part of its delivery fleet to electric models.
Foton’s eAUMARK trucks are designed for urban delivery and have undergone more than 3 million kilometers of road testing. The vehicles feature fully automated welding and corrosion-resistant polyurea coatings, along with Foton’s i-ADAS driver assistance system. They comply with European crash safety standards and include driver-friendly upgrades such as air-cushioned seats and noise-reduction designs.
The trucks support fast charging, with a full charge achievable in one hour, and consume 32 kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers. An onboard energy management system helps reduce lifetime operating costs.
Foton has expanded its footprint in Malaysia’s commercial vehicle sector through collaborations with retail and e-commerce firms. In the public transport sector, it has also delivered a fleet of electric buses—reportedly the largest Chinese electric bus order in Malaysia to date.
A pioneer in China’s new energy commercial vehicle space, Foton offers a full lineup of electric, hybrid, and hydrogen-powered vehicles. Its products meet EU certification standards and are currently in use across more than 45 countries.
With regional trade ties strengthening under the RCEP framework, Foton plans to continue expanding local operations and delivering tailored energy solutions to support Southeast Asia’s transition to more sustainable transportation systems.
