RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (chinatrucks.org) — FAW TRUCKS, one of China’s major commercial vehicle manufacturers, signed agreements for nearly 10,000 trucks during a five-day visit to Saudi Arabia by company Chairman and Party Secretary Li Sheng, the company announced.

The visit, held from May 22 to 26 following Li's attendance at the 2025 World New Energy Vehicle Congress in the United Arab Emirates, included meetings with key local dealers and clients in Saudi Arabia’s commercial vehicle sector. The agreements span trucks intended for infrastructure development, mining operations and road logistics.

Li was joined by Leng Changchun, general manager and Party secretary of FAW TRUCKS International.

On May 22, the company signed a three-year memorandum of understanding with distributor TJT for 7,500 trucks, marking its largest overseas order to date. An additional agreement for 1,500 trucks was reached with another local distributor. The company also secured over 2,000 units in intention orders for a variety of logistics applications and completed on-site sales of more than 300 vehicles.

During the trip, Li visited more than 10 dealers and customers, including TJT and TWT, to assess market demand. He noted that Saudi Arabia is a strategic focus in FAW Jiefang’s global expansion and said the company will offer customized products, digital fleet solutions and aftersales support to meet local needs.

The visit coincided with the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Saudi Arabia and was seen as part of broader cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

FAW Jiefang said it will continue to implement its “SPRINT 2030” strategy, aimed at accelerating localization, establishing regional subsidiaries and expanding its global service network.
