May 28,2025

The event, a large-scale obstacle course competition with around 2,000 participants, was sponsored by Foton’s Côte d’Ivoire branch. The company hosted a demonstration zone where attendees could engage directly with the Tunland G7, including live test drives on terrain mimicking real-world off-road conditions. Several prospective buyers expressed intent to purchase during the event.
The Tunland G7 served as the official vehicle for the competition and was driven across sandy and muddy tracks to showcase its off-road capabilities. Spectators and participants praised the vehicle’s handling and performance.
Equipped with Foton’s proprietary AUCAN diesel engine, the pickup delivers a maximum output of 119 kilowatts and 390 newton-meters of torque. It is available with either a ZF eight-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. The vehicle meets local emissions standards, aided by a Bosch third-generation high-pressure common rail system, and has a reported fuel consumption as low as 7.5 liters per 100 kilometers.
Additional features include a BorgWarner four-wheel drive system with four selectable driving modes and a fifth-generation variable geometry turbocharger with a 1.5-second response time. Test drivers described the performance as exceeding expectations.
The Tunland G7 has received EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval and is currently marketed in several African countries, including South Africa, Ghana, Mozambique and Angola. Foton said it continues to invest in expanding its presence in the region through local partnerships and improved service infrastructure.
Company representatives said the Côte d’Ivoire event highlighted both product capability and rising regional interest in utility vehicles. The company is aiming to deepen its engagement in key markets such as Côte d’Ivoire and Angola as part of its broader globalization strategy.
