Windrose Secures $5 Million Electric Truck Order in Canada

The agreement covers the purchase of long-range battery electric heavy trucks developed by Windrose, with ITD Industries placing a deposit for the first batch of vehicles. This marks another step in Windrose’s global expansion, following its entry into markets including China (including Hong Kong), the United States, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Based in Canada, ITD Industries provides transportation equipment and solutions to a broad customer base, including major commercial fleets. The company was among the early adopters of electric heavy-duty trucks in the Canadian market, serving clients such as Walmart Canada, Tim Hortons, Loblaws and Metro Foods.
Windrose’s electric heavy-duty truck is designed for medium- to long-haul operations. It features a 729-kilowatt-hour battery pack and offers a range of up to 670 kilometers (416 miles) when fully loaded at 49 tons. The vehicle’s streamlined design achieves a drag coefficient of 0.2755, enhancing overall efficiency.
To support high-capacity energy needs, the truck is equipped with an 800-volt high-voltage charging platform, enabling it to recharge up to 400 kilometers (249 miles) of range in about 35 minutes.
