SuperPanther, a Chinese electric commercial vehicle company, on June 12 announced a new global strategy for 2025 to 2030 that aims to accelerate the adoption of electric and intelligent trucks worldwide.

The strategy, called “Dual Empowerment,” outlines a two-pronged approach: exporting complete vehicle ecosystems abroad and partnering with global manufacturers by offering core software and hardware solutions. The company said it plans to deepen local engagement in international markets, contributing not just products but also technical expertise and standards development.

SuperPanther will operate under its newly launched international brand name, SUPERPANTHER, focusing on high-end, intelligent electric trucks for markets in Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region. Its product offerings include electric heavy-duty trucks, a remote operations platform called SPeed Service, and an intelligent charging system branded SPer Charging.

A major milestone is set for late 2025, when SUPERPANTHER’s first electric heavy truck is expected to roll off the assembly line at the Steyr Automotive plant in Austria. The vehicle is being co-developed through a partnership agreement signed June 12. Steyr board member Manfred Eibeck said the collaboration combines Steyr’s century-long manufacturing expertise with SuperPanther’s electric vehicle technologies.

SuperPanther also unveiled SuperPanther Tech, a platform to support global truck makers with core systems such as electric drive axles, vehicle control systems, high-voltage platforms, chassis architecture, and over-the-air software solutions. The company plans to jointly develop platforms and co-branded products with international partners.

The company’s global expansion is backed by a growing international infrastructure. It operates a drive axle plant in Jiangsu and a controller factory in Shaanxi, China, as well as an overseas skateboard chassis production base. SuperPanther has also opened a Digital Intelligence Center in Hong Kong to support global R&D, data operations, and digital platform development.

In Europe, SuperPanther’s regional headquarters is located in Germany, led by CEO Dr. Michael Ruf, a former executive at Continental and KraussMaffei. The leadership team includes professionals with backgrounds at Tsinghua University and Fortune 500 companies, aiming to bridge global capabilities with local operations.

SuperPanther Chairman and CEO Liu Chao said the next five years will be critical to the electrification of commercial transportation. The company plans to enter at least three major international markets with localized products by 2026 and deliver tens of thousands of electric trucks and system solutions globally by 2030.

“We aim not just to participate in the global EV transition, but to help shape it,” Liu said.
