GWM Unveils G Series Hybrid Heavy Trucks, Starting at RMB 536,600
June 26,2025

The launch event, held in Baoding, featured the theme “More Than Just Fuel Saving” and included displays of two hybrid trucks that supported the Taklimakan Rally in May, along with two customer-owned vehicles that have each logged more than 100,000 kilometers.
The G1050 is powered by a fully self-developed hybrid system that includes a chip-level control unit and a dual-motor dedicated hybrid transmission. It produces a combined output of 1,050 horsepower. According to the company, the model reduces fuel consumption by 15% to 25% compared to traditional diesel trucks, potentially cutting transportation costs for fleet operators.
GWM also announced that the G970 model, designed for general freight and express delivery applications, will be launched soon to meet more diverse logistics needs.
“The G Series was developed to go beyond traditional thinking,” said Sun Yu, chief technology officer of GWM Commercial Vehicle. “We’re focusing on total value — helping owners save money, simplifying fleet operations, and reducing driver fatigue.”
Several customers shared their test-drive experiences during the event. Tan Guoping, a logistics operator from Xiangyang, reported saving over 800 liters of fuel after driving a GWM hybrid truck for 10,000 kilometers. He said the truck performed better than both domestic and imported alternatives and that he sold his previous vehicle in anticipation of purchasing the G1050.
Fleet operators from Hubei and Jiangsu provinces also expressed satisfaction with the test results and announced plans to become GWM dealers. Yang Zhen, general manager of Sichuan Derui, said her company already uses GWM pickup trucks and that the consistent product quality had strengthened her interest in joining the GWM commercial vehicle network.
To support early buyers, GWM introduced three promotional policies for the first 200 customers of the G1050: a money-back fuel-saving guarantee, three years of comprehensive maintenance coverage, and a guaranteed resale value of no less than 50% after three years.
The company has established more than 500 service centers and 18 parts warehouses across major logistics hubs in China. GWM also offers key component replacement instead of repairs, 24/7 roadside assistance, and compensation of RMB 2,000 per day for extended repair delays.
As environmental regulations tighten and fuel costs rise, GWM said the G Series marks a step forward in hybrid truck development and supports the broader shift toward cleaner, more efficient logistics solutions.
