JAC Delivers Sanitation Trucks to Almaty as Part of Kazakhstan Green Initiative

July 08,2025

China’s JAC Motors delivered the first 50 sanitation trucks to the Almaty city government on July 4, marking the initial phase of a larger government procurement aimed at supporting Kazakhstan’s green economy transition.

The handover ceremony was attended by Yerlan Nysanbayev, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources; Almaty Mayor Dauren Satybaldy; and Asat Abaydin, Deputy Chairman of the Industrial Development Fund.

The trucks, produced by JAC’s joint venture in Kazakhstan, will be used for municipal waste collection and transportation. According to Satybaldy, the vehicles will help improve the city’s sanitation system and contribute to a cleaner, more livable urban environment.

Kazakhstan launched a national strategy in 2024 to shift toward a green economy, which includes upgrading public transportation and sanitation infrastructure. JAC secured the government contract through a competitive bidding process, citing the brand’s product reliability and established reputation.

The remaining 60-plus trucks from the order are scheduled for delivery in the coming months. JAC’s joint venture plans to continue introducing new vehicle models tailored to local needs and support Kazakhstan’s “Bright Path” economic development strategy.
