FOTON Opens First Sub-Dealer in Kazakhstan’s Shymkent

July 16,2025

Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer FOTON opened its first sub-dealer in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, on July 11, strengthening its presence in Central Asia and expanding its local sales and service network.

The dealership, located in the city’s Ordabasy District, is part of FOTON’s effort to enhance its footprint in the region. Local government officials attended the opening ceremony and praised the company’s investment and contribution to the local logistics sector.

The opening follows a 700-kilometer truck tour organized by FOTON on July 10, which featured a convoy of five trucks, including two AUMAN Galaxy models, one AUMAN R, and two AUMAN C vehicles. The convoy traveled from Almaty to Shymkent, stopping at multiple service stations along the route to engage with truck operators and demonstrate the vehicles’ performance.

FOTON showcased three main product lines during the tour. The AUMAN Galaxy targets the high-end logistics segment, offering intelligent safety systems and fuel efficiency. The AUMAN R serves mid- to long-distance transport needs with a focus on reliability and cost-effectiveness. The AUMAN C is built for heavy-duty applications such as construction and mining.

The new dealership received a strong response from customers, with 10 AUMAN R trucks ordered at the launch event. The facility aims to improve access to sales, after-sales service, and spare parts for customers in southern Kazakhstan and nearby areas.

FOTON has adapted its product strategy in 2025 to meet evolving market demands and regulatory requirements in Kazakhstan. The company introduced five new models tailored to local transport needs, ranging from long-haul logistics to heavy-duty engineering.

The Shymkent outlet is part of FOTON’s broader international push. Earlier this year, the company launched the “AUMAN Galaxy Global Tour,” which began in Beijing and passed through eight Chinese provinces before reaching Almaty, Bishkek, and Tashkent. The 7,000-kilometer journey was aimed at showcasing the competitiveness of Chinese heavy trucks abroad.

The expansion aligns with China’s Belt and Road Initiative and reflects broader industrial cooperation between China and Kazakhstan. FOTON’s growing network in the region is expected to support the development of local transport infrastructure and provide more efficient logistics solutions.
