CIMC Secures 2,000 Semi-Trailer Order in Tanzania

September 02,2025

Recently, a team from CIMC Vehicles visited Tanzania to study the local market. The group was led by Dr. Shu Lei, CEO of CIMC Light Tower Semi-Trailer Business Group, and Hu Xiaojun, Vice President of Overseas Marketing and General Manager of East Africa Marketing. They visited major companies in pipeline production, sugar processing, and a large dam project to learn how CIMC trailers are being used in energy and agricultural transport.

During the trip, CIMC signed a strategic agreement with a local partner for 2,000 semi-trailers to be delivered in 2026. The two sides also announced plans to establish the “CIMC-Tanzania Dar es Salaam Delivery and Service Center” to strengthen local delivery and after-sales support.

To date, CIMC has delivered more than 500 trailers for pipeline transport in Tanzania. Known for their reliability and adaptability, these units have become essential to the country’s energy logistics. Dr. Shu also met with customers to discuss potential upgrades tailored to local needs.

In the sugar sector, CIMC has partnered with MITBWA Group to support raw material and finished product transport. Its customized sugar trailers—efficient, sealed, and damage-free—have helped improve logistics efficiency and reduce operating costs.

The team also visited the East Africa Dam project, the region’s largest water conservancy development, to study transport needs for heavy equipment and construction materials and propose integrated solutions.

By 2025, CIMC had already supplied 1,000 trailers to KD customers in Tanzania, underscoring the success of its “Light Tower Manufacturing” model in the Global South.

The new 2,000-unit order spans pipeline transport, sugar logistics, and bulk cargo, and will be closely tied to the new Dar es Salaam service center.

From large-scale orders to localized service, and from energy projects to agriculture, CIMC remains committed to customer-focused, high-quality transport solutions. Looking ahead, the company plans to deepen cooperation with African partners and support the region’s economic growth.
