China’s heavy-truck market continued to grow in 2025. From January through September, sales reached 821,400 units, up 20% from the same period last year. Exports jumped 24% to 111,000 units, led by rising demand for new energy trucks. In the third quarter alone, sales of new energy heavy trucks rose 181%, with September marking a record 28.9% market share.

Shacman, one of China’s top three truck makers with a 16% domestic market share, announced 25,000 new energy orders at CCVS Expo in November. Many of the orders include bulk deliveries to the Middle East.

On Nov. 9, Shacman launched the New Energy Heavy Truck Ecosystem Alliance with partners Weichai Power, TELD, and CIMC Vehicles. The alliance integrates research, charging infrastructure, and smart logistics to address challenges such as energy supply and operating costs. “Developing new energy vehicles is not a solo act—it’s an industry-wide effort,” said Yuan Hongming, Shacman chairman.

By October, Shacman had sold nearly 20,000 new energy trucks. Hydrogen models led national sales, while 580-kilowatt electric trucks equipped with e-axle technology and energy consumption of 1.2 kilowatt-hours per kilometer were deployed in steel, coal, and port operations across China, including Xinjiang and Shanghai.

Shacman’s overseas expansion included bulk deliveries of two key models.

X3000 Heavy Haul Tractor: A 6×6 all-wheel-drive truck with 550–660 horsepower, automatic transmission, and 10% lower fuel consumption. Now exported to the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia.

Desert-Specific Trucks: 230 units delivered to Middle Eastern clients from January through April 2025. Designed for tough terrain with specialized tires and cooling systems, they set monthly export records.

Overseas sales now account for more than 30% of Shacman’s total, with top markets in Kazakhstan and Algeria.

In China, Shacman introduced the Delong M5000 Cargo Truck, offering 280–350 hp in diesel, gas, or electric versions. Lightweight design and annual fuel savings of over $2,000 helped secure 800 orders in its first month.

The G6000 platform, launched in Anhui in March, combines Cummins engines and Faster transmissions. It has become popular among express delivery firms.

With 17 global knock-down plants and 2025 exports approaching 40,000 units, Shacman aims for 30% of sales to come from overseas by 2026. The company plans EU certification for electric trucks and expanded local production in Russia. “Our ecosystem and scenario-specific models support global decarbonization,” said a Shacman sales executive.
