A batch of hybrid mining trucks manufactured by Tongli Heavy Industry and equipped with Yuchai’s YCK16-400kW hybrid powertrain system has recently been delivered to Indonesia. The shipment reflects ongoing cooperation between the two companies in the new energy mining equipment segment and highlights the growing presence of Chinese-made mining vehicles in Southeast Asia.

Indonesia is one of the world’s major mineral producers. As the country advances its low-carbon transition, demand for energy-efficient mining equipment has increased. Tongli Heavy Industry has operated in the Indonesian market for several years, and the exported trucks were developed to meet the operating requirements of local medium- and large-scale open-pit mines.

The vehicles are powered by Yuchai’s YCK16-400kW hybrid powertrain, which combines conventional and electric technologies to support heavy-duty mining operations. The system is designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions while maintaining stable power output, helping operators improve efficiency and control operating costs.

The latest delivery builds on a series of overseas projects jointly developed by Yuchai and Tongli Heavy Industry. In earlier collaborations, hybrid mining truck models from the two companies have been deployed in multiple international markets. The shipment to Indonesia is expected to strengthen Tongli Heavy Industry’s local operations while further extending the overseas application of Yuchai’s hybrid powertrain systems in mining projects.
