Garrett showcased its breakthrough oil-free centrifugal compressor portfolio at China Refrigeration Expo 2026, held from April 8 to 10. The product range is designed for data centers, battery energy storage systems, and a broad spectrum of industrial and commercial refrigeration applications.

The portfolio spans cooling capacities from 7 to 500 refrigeration tons (25–1,750 kWc), enabling scalable and high-efficiency system architectures. It integrates high-speed centrifugal turbomachinery, oil-free foil bearing technology, and advanced model-based control algorithms. Compared with conventional scroll and screw compressor technologies, the platform delivers higher overall efficiency and performance.

A key advantage of the solution is reduced maintenance requirements and a lower total cost of ownership. It also reflects Garrett’s expansion into next-generation refrigeration technologies, with a focus on ultra-low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants and high-efficiency cooling solutions for demanding operating environments.

At the exhibition, Garrett also unveiled its new 1,250 kWc high-capacity compressor for the first time. The product is specifically developed for high-performance data centers and industrial refrigeration systems.

As China’s data center, energy storage, and industrial and commercial cooling markets continue to expand, demand for efficient and environmentally responsible thermal management solutions is increasing rapidly. Garrett’s compressors deliver more than 10% real-world energy savings, support ultra-low GWP refrigerants, and feature a compact, retrofit-friendly design. These characteristics make them suitable for rooftop units, packaged systems, modular chillers, and battery energy storage applications.

In addition, Garrett presented an oil-free cooling compressor developed for electric trucks and buses. Compared with conventional solutions, the unit is 50% smaller and 30% lighter, while delivering improved efficiency and lower vibration performance. The product is scheduled for launch in 2027 in cooperation with Keliny.

Garrett also invited OEMs, system integrators, and industry partners to visit Booth B2F86 to explore collaboration opportunities across industrial, commercial, and transportation refrigeration sectors.
