Windrose Delivers First Electric Heavy-Duty Truck in Chile
April 14,2026
Windrose has delivered its first electric heavy-duty truck in Chile, marking the company’s entry into the South American market, the company said in April 2026. The delivery took place alongside its first handover in Texas, United States, as part of its broader international rollout.

The vehicle delivered in Chile was presented during an official event attended by President Gabriel Boric, underscoring government interest in the development of low-emission transport solutions.
The initial customer, TrailerLogistics, has ordered 36 units, with plans to increase total purchases to 100 trucks within the year.
According to the company, the truck achieved a range of 626 kilometers on a single charge under full-load conditions of approximately 36 tonnes in high-altitude regions of Chile, highlighting its performance in demanding operating environments.

TrailerLogistics, a key logistics partner of Walmart in Chile, operates electric transport services for major clients including Walmart and Heineken. The company focuses on the deployment of electric trucks and smart trailer systems and is considered among the early adopters of heavy-duty electric transport solutions in the region.
In addition to fleet operations, TrailerLogistics provides integrated logistics solutions, including trailers, tractors and charging infrastructure.

Windrose said it is also working with Sunswap to deploy a fully electric long-haul cold chain solution in Chile. The system combines Windrose electric trucks with Sunswap’s solar-assisted, battery-powered refrigerated trailers, enabling cold chain transport without diesel use.
