Chinese Commercial Vehicle Makers Set for Strong Showing at IAA 2026

More than a dozen Chinese commercial vehicle makers and suppliers are expected to take part, including FOTON, FAW TRUCKS, SINOTRUK, SANY TRUCK, Dongfeng, BYD Commercial Vehicles, SAIC Hongyan, Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle, SUPERPANTHER, Skywell, Chery Commercial Vehicles, DeepWay, GAC Leapmotor Commercial Vehicles and SAIC MAXUS.
Their products cover heavy-duty trucks, light trucks, vans and buses. At the show, Chinese companies will present not only vehicles, but also electric powertrains, hydrogen technology, intelligent driving, charging and battery-swapping systems, and other solutions for commercial transport.
Here are some of the key products and technologies to watch at IAA 2026.
FAW TRUCKS: 5 Vehicles and 9 Core Components

FAW TRUCKS will display five complete vehicles and nine core components at IAA 2026.
The lineup covers five powertrain technologies: diesel, natural gas, hydrogen, battery electric and hybrid.
The company will use the display to show its products and technologies for different commercial vehicle applications.
SINOTRUK: Five SITRAK Models

SINOTRUK, part of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, will bring five SITRAK models to Hanover.
The lineup will cover electric and high-efficiency diesel powertrains, with tractor trucks, cargo trucks, dump trucks and high-end light trucks.
The vehicles are designed for applications ranging from long-haul logistics and urban distribution to construction work.
They will also feature the upgraded “Xiaozhong 2.0” intelligent service system, which combines smart cockpit functions, intelligent management of electric power systems and digital fleet management.
FOTON: New European Strategy and BEACON Heavy Truck
FOTON will unveil its new European strategy at IAA on September 14 and mark the delivery of its 13 millionth vehicle worldwide.
The company will also make the overseas debut of the CAVAN BEACON, an intelligent heavy-duty truck that supports both battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell powertrains.
FOTON will also display seven new-energy vehicles and six self-developed core components, covering several major transport applications in Europe.
XCMG: New-Generation New-Energy Heavy Truck
XCMG will present new-energy commercial vehicles and green transport solutions at IAA 2026.
For the European market, the company is working with local partners to develop new-energy heavy trucks based on local regulations, road conditions and operating needs.
The company will also introduce a new-generation flagship new-energy heavy truck designed for long-haul logistics.
Farizon: Three New-Energy Commercial Vehicles
Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle will display three products covering urban distribution and long-haul transport.
The Farizon SV Cargo has received a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating and has won several overseas industry awards. It offers 13 cubic meters of cargo space, 30 intelligent safety features, and fast-charging and range capabilities for European urban delivery.
The Farizon SuperVAN V7E with dual sliding doors is also designed for urban distribution. It offers a 7-cubic-meter cargo area, a payload of 1,373 kg and a 475-km WLTP city range, together with more than 14 ADAS functions.
The third model is the Farizon Homtruck H European version, a 4x2 electric tractor making its European debut. It uses a 600-kWh underfloor battery, has a range of more than 500 km and supports dual-gun fast charging. Its B10 design life reaches up to 1.5 million km, making it suitable for intensive long-haul operations in Europe.
Dongfeng: Hydrogen Trucks and a 400-kW Fuel Cell
Dongfeng will bring three hydrogen-powered vehicles to Hanover, along with a 400-kW fuel cell making its global debut.
The three vehicles are designed for heavy-duty long-haul transport, resource transportation and urban cold-chain delivery.
Dongfeng will also show its T1 new-energy commercial vehicle platform, which is designed for applications including long-haul logistics, resource transport and urban cold-chain delivery.
JAC: Four New-Energy Models
JAC Motors will return to IAA for the second time and display four new-energy products at Booth C08 in Hall 12 from September 14 to 20.
The N90 EV and N42 EV are electric light trucks designed for logistics applications, with large batteries, long range and fast charging.
The SUNRAY PRO van uses a dedicated electric platform and offers a large cargo area and low loading floor.
The T9 PHEV pickup uses a new 4DHT hybrid system and combines long range with both commercial and passenger applications.
SANY TRUCK: European Localized Heavy Truck
On September 15, SANY TRUCK will make its debut at IAA together with Putzmeister.
The company will show a heavy-duty truck that it describes as the first Chinese truck to receive EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) and enter mature localized production in Europe.
A 2-km test-drive route will also be available at the show, allowing visitors to experience the truck directly.
Chery Commercial Vehicles: Multiple Products at IAA Debut
Chery Commercial Vehicles will make its first appearance at IAA on September 14 under the theme “Unlimited Potential, Creating the Future.”
The company will display products including the DELIVAN, United Truck and autonomous logistics vehicles.
Rather than focusing on individual vehicles, Chery Commercial Vehicles will present solutions for new-energy logistics applications.
The company said its overall sales continued to grow during the first eight months of 2026, with overseas business showing particularly strong growth.
SAIC Hongyan: eDELIVER 420L Debut
SAIC Hongyan will make its debut at IAA 2026 with the eDELIVER 420L (eTruck), a new-energy heavy-duty truck developed for overseas markets.
The truck will be unveiled on September 14.
DeepWay: Intelligent Heavy-Truck Technology
DeepWay will exhibit at Booth B12 in Hall 24 from September 15 to 20.
The company will showcase complete vehicles, self-developed core components and intelligent highway freight solutions for global markets.
Two left-hand-drive trucks will be displayed: the DeepWay Xingchen 4x2 and 6x4.
Both models have been developed for European road regulations and driving conditions.
GAC: Electric Trucks, Autonomous Driving and Battery Swapping
GAC Leapmotor Commercial Vehicles will participate in IAA 2026 from September 15 to 20 and hold a press conference during the show.
Its new light commercial vehicle brand, MONTX, will make its international debut. The company will display the P10, V10 concept vehicle and SMILODON Pro production pickup, while also launching a global user co-creation program.
For heavy trucks, GAC will display the T9 Robotruck with L4 autonomous driving technology together with Pony.ai.
It will also show a battery-swapping version of the T9 with Aulton, together with its battery-swapping system. The system can complete a battery swap in three to five minutes.
The booth will also feature intelligent driving domain controllers and electric drive axles.
Skywell: Z9 Autonomous Heavy Truck Global Debut
Skywell will make its first appearance at IAA in September and launch its smart commercial vehicle strategy and new product lineup.
Five representative vehicles will be displayed.
The Skywell Z9 autonomous heavy truck will make its global debut. It combines battery-electric power, L4 autonomous driving and connected vehicle technology for intelligent heavy-duty transport.
BYD Commercial Vehicles: New 4x2 Electric Tractor
BYD Commercial Vehicles will bring products covering heavy trucks, light trucks, buses, special-purpose vehicles and trailers to IAA 2026.
The company will also display electric powertrain systems, hydrogen technology, components, autonomous driving, connected vehicle technology, charging and hydrogen-refueling systems, fleet management and logistics services.
A new 4x2 electric tractor will make its debut at the show.
The European-spec heavy truck features a lightweight design and a new high-voltage platform. Its cab has also completed Swedish safety testing.
BYD will also display several electric trucks and buses that have received EU certification.
SUPERPANTHER: European-Built eTopas 600
SUPERPANTHER will display the European-built eTopas 600 electric heavy-duty truck at IAA 2026.
The truck will be shown in a new color and will highlight its production, customer deliveries and real-world operations in Europe.
SUPERPANTHER will also present next-generation technologies including MCS megawatt charging, vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology and intelligent driving systems.
Visitors will be able to join eTopas 600 product sessions and test drives during the show.
SAIC MAXUS: 40-Ton Electric Truck and RoboVAN
SAIC MAXUS will showcase a product lineup covering pickups, vans, heavy trucks, light trucks and autonomous logistics vehicles.
The lineup will include diesel, hybrid and battery-electric models.
The new STARLORD L and 2026 eTerron 9 will form the company's main pickup display.
A 40-ton electric heavy truck and the RoboVAN intelligent logistics vehicle will be among the key technology highlights.
WEICHAI: 18 Products and Three New Launches
WEICHAI will display 18 products at IAA 2026, including nine engines, two battery systems, five battery cells and two controllers.
The products cover high-efficiency internal combustion engines, hybrid systems, hydrogen technology, batteries and electric drive systems.
On September 14, WEICHAI will launch three new products: the NG4.0 natural-gas powertrain, the WPH15DI hydrogen internal-combustion-engine hybrid powertrain and the EM300 next-generation underfloor battery for heavy trucks.
The new products are designed to support different approaches to low-carbon and zero-carbon transport.
HANDE: Six Axle Assemblies
HANDE will display six axle assemblies at IAA 2026.
The products cover tractors, trailers, medium- and light-duty trucks and telescopic forklifts, with solutions for both new-energy and conventional vehicles.
The lineup focuses on high torque, high efficiency, lightweight design and long maintenance intervals.
The products can be used in long-haul logistics, trailer transport, urban distribution and special applications.
DRT: New-Energy and Conventional Driveline Solutions
DRT will present its latest driveline technologies for commercial vehicles at IAA.
The lineup includes the VEDS electric drive system, electric air compressor and hydraulic retarder, covering both new-energy and conventional powertrain applications.
ConMet: Wheel-End Technology
ConMet will also exhibit at IAA 2026, drawing on more than 60 years of experience in wheel-end technology.
The company will present its wheel-end products and its integrated development and manufacturing capabilities to commercial vehicle manufacturers from around the world.
A Strong Chinese Presence at IAA 2026
The large number of Chinese commercial vehicle companies at IAA Transportation 2026 reflects the growing focus on overseas markets.
From heavy trucks and light trucks to electric powertrains, hydrogen, autonomous driving, charging and battery swapping, Chinese companies will bring a broader range of products and technologies to Hanover this year.
The focus is also moving beyond vehicle exports. European certification, local production, customer deliveries and local service networks are becoming increasingly important as Chinese commercial vehicle makers expand overseas.
How these products perform at IAA 2026, and how quickly they move into the European market, will be closely watched by the commercial vehicle industry.
