The 72nd IAA Transportation opened on September 14 under the theme “WE DELIVER.”

FAW TRUCKS is exhibiting under the theme “ENGINEERING THE NEXT HORIZON, DELIVERING THE NEXT JOURNEY.” The company has brought five complete vehicles, nine core powertrain products and a range of new technologies and solutions to the show.

On the opening day, FAW TRUCKS unveiled its TL.X future concept truck and held a product presentation for its CORTRON CS range.

TL.X Looks Toward the Next Generation of Trucks

FAW TRUCKS officially unveiled the TL.X concept truck on the morning of September 14.

The event was attended by around 200 dealers, suppliers, customers and media representatives from around the world.

Zhang Xiaofan, Deputy General Manager of FAW Group, attended the event and delivered a speech. Li Sheng, Chairman and Party Secretary of FAW TRUCKS, officially unveiled the TL.X.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the production of the Jiefang CA10, the first automobile made in New China.

Over the past 70 years, FAW TRUCKS has expanded its commercial vehicle business in global markets. Its product range now covers diesel, natural gas, hybrid, electric and hydrogen power, as well as heavy-, medium- and light-duty trucks and other commercial vehicles.

Its products have reached 115 countries and regions, with total production and sales approaching 10 million vehicles.

As the commercial vehicle industry moves toward electrification, lower emissions and smarter transportation, FAW TRUCKS says it is shifting from a vehicle manufacturer toward a provider of green and intelligent transportation solutions.

Li Sheng said the “WE DELIVER” theme of IAA Transportation is closely aligned with FAW TRUCKS’s development strategy.

“We” represents cooperation with partners across the industry and a focus on customers throughout the vehicle life cycle. “Deliver” reflects the company’s long-term goal of bringing new products and solutions to customers.

At IAA, FAW TRUCKS is also showcasing production vehicles covering diesel, natural gas, hybrid, electric and hydrogen power, as well as tractor trucks, cargo trucks, dump trucks and special-purpose vehicles.

A Concept Truck for 2036
 

The TL.X is designed as a future concept truck for 2036.

FAW TRUCKS says future commercial vehicles will need to respond to the growing use of AI, stricter carbon targets and the changing transportation ecosystem connecting people, vehicles, cargo, roads and cloud-based systems.

The company is exploring three key questions: how to combine its long-standing brand heritage with new technologies, how to use a flexible vehicle architecture to support different powertrains and cabin layouts, and how to balance operating efficiency with driver comfort.

The name TL.X reflects this approach.

“T” comes from “Tron,” a common root used in FAW TRUCKS’s overseas products. “L” stands for “Leading,” while “X” represents the possibilities of future logistics and transportation.

The concept focuses on three areas: renewing the brand heritage, providing more flexible customization and making the vehicle smarter.

FAW TRUCKS aims to give future trucks greater freedom in cabin space and energy choices, while improving intelligent interaction, intelligent operation and the ability of the vehicle to continuously evolve.

The company also plans to develop TL.X as an open technology platform based on “sharing, co-creation and mutual benefit,” working with partners around the world to explore future commercial vehicle technologies.

CORTRON CS Targets the European Market

On the afternoon of September 14, FAW TRUCKS held a product presentation for its CORTRON CS range.

Based on FAW TRUCKS’s seventh-generation heavy-duty truck platform, CORTRON CS is set to enter the European market and begin deliveries.

The company displayed two diesel tractor trucks, the CS600 and CS600 XXL, together with the CS925 electric tractor truck.

A specialist from FAW TRUCKS’s Austria R&D Center introduced the CORTRON CS range and its key features.

ECS test engineer Hans Deinhoff, ZF R&D executive Des O'Regan and dealer representative Mark Obi also shared their testing and operating experiences with the trucks.

FAW TRUCKS said the feedback from these external partners provides further insight into the capabilities of CORTRON CS for the European market.

The company will also hold a brand night event on the evening of September 14.

On September 15-16, FAW TRUCKS will hold events covering hydrogen and electric powertrain technologies and will also speak at China Day.

Four Zones Cover Low-Carbon and Zero-Emission Technologies

At IAA Transportation 2026, FAW TRUCKS has divided its exhibition area into four zones: Low Carbon, Zero Carbon, Ecosystem and Future.

The four zones cover current production vehicles and technologies as well as concepts for future transportation.

In the Low Carbon zone, FAW TRUCKS is displaying two CORTRON CS600 diesel models, together with the GD300 low-carbon power domain, a 24V sodium-ion battery for starting and parking functions, and intelligent connected systems from Yukuai and Zhuoyu.

The CORTRON CS600 heavy-duty tractor complies with EU WVTA requirements. It is powered by the Jiefang 6DV1 Euro VI engine, producing up to 600 Ps and 3,000 N·m of torque, with a thermal efficiency of 50%.

The truck is designed for long-distance road freight in Europe. The CS600 XXL focuses on improving comfort for long-distance driving and rest inside the cab.

The Zero Carbon zone features the CORTRON CS925 electric tractor and the ER540 zero-carbon power domain.

It also includes several new-energy technologies, such as the R11E300S3 heavy-duty electric drive axle, E-Shift S7 heavy-duty electric transmission, CAPE1-240 fuel cell engine, CA6HV3 hydrogen direct-injection engine and an immersion-cooled battery pack.

The CORTRON CS925 EV uses an 800V high-voltage platform and dual-gun fast charging. It can charge to 90% in 45 minutes and offers more than 550 km of range when fully loaded.

The Ecosystem zone brings together vehicles, components, energy supply solutions and digital services, showing FAW TRUCKS’s broader approach to transportation solutions.

The Future zone provides a direct link between the company’s past and future.

The Jiefang CA10, the first automobile produced in New China in 1956, is displayed alongside the TL.X concept truck. Together, the two vehicles connect 1956, 2026 and 2036, highlighting FAW TRUCKS’s development from its early history toward future commercial vehicle technologies.

FAW TRUCKS says it will continue to focus on technology, green transportation and international development, while advancing its “SPRINT 2030” global strategy.

The company also aims to move beyond delivering individual vehicles and provide more complete transportation ecosystems, offering customers global solutions covering different applications, the full vehicle life cycle and the entire transportation process.
