BYD Electric Sanitation Trucks Serve at September 3 V-Day Parade in Beijing
September 03,2025

This was the third time BYD has taken part in a national ceremony of this level. The company also provided sanitation support for the September 3 parade in 2015 and the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 2019. Over the past ten years, being selected three times shows the trust placed in BYD’s brand, technology, and product quality, and reflects how the company has grown alongside the country.
The sanitation trucks first used in 2015 are still in service today, proving their durability and reliability and setting an industry benchmark. So far, more than 3,000 BYD sanitation trucks are in operation in Beijing. The latest third-generation model, which appeared at this year’s ceremony, is built on a pure electric chassis designed specifically for sanitation work. It is equipped with BYD’s blade battery, a high-efficiency motor, and an intelligent control system. It also features energy recovery through coasting and braking, which helps reduce energy consumption by up to 15% in stop-and-go conditions. The trucks can handle multiple tasks including road sweeping, washing, and waste transfer.
BYD’s role in national events is backed by strong performance in the market. Its sanitation trucks are now widely used in major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, and Xi’an. At the same time, BYD’s pure electric heavy-duty trucks have entered markets in the United States, Mexico, India, and Singapore. Their adaptability to different operating conditions has earned them international recognition and showcased the global influence of Chinese manufacturing.
Looking ahead, BYD Commercial Vehicles will continue to follow its principle of “technology as the core, innovation as the foundation.” With cleaner and smarter green technology, the company aims to contribute to China’s dual carbon goals and support a more sustainable future.
