HK stocks end up 1.8 pct; Dongfeng Motor gains

(chinatrucks.com, Nov. 9, 2009)Hong Kong stocks rose on last wednesday on bargain hunting after two days of declines, as investors snapped up banks and gold counters, while Dongfeng Motor Group (0489.HK) surged after posting profits. The Hang Seng Index .HSI closed up 1.76 percent or 374.71points at 21,614.77.
The China Enterprises Index .HSCE of top locally listed mainland Chinese stocks rose 2.64 percent to 12,830.15. Dongfeng Motor advanced 12.27 percent, after reporting a 4.63 billion yuan ($678.2 million) profit in the first nine months of the year.
