Volvo releases supercharged diesel engine with five cylinders

(chinatrucks.com, May 18, 2010) Volvo has released a new five cylinders supercharged diesel engine with 2.0 L, and this new engine will equip new generation S60 at first. The structure of D3 has a slight difference with D5 2.4L diesel. At the same time, the turbine compressing system shall be adjusted.
Besides, C30, S40, V50 and C70 will be equipped with D3 new diesel. The horsepower and torque output are respectively 150hp and 350Nm. Volvo is to provide 177hp and 400Nm calibration versions. Two engines have same fuel consumption and emission standard.
New five cylinders supercharged diesel engine with 2.0 L shall be equipped with automated or manual transmission, and each calibration version will meet Euro V emission standard.
