(chinatrucks.com, July 21, 2010) Westport Innovations Inc. has signed cooperative agreement with Volvo Truck Company recently. Westport is to research biogas and natural gas engine for Volvo power assembly system.

Westport and Volvo will bear the risk for new technology research and development in accordance with the agreement. However, Westport will get some compensation of particular engineering and research cost. Westport shall make preparation for the supply of natural gas assembly.

Both parties have agreed that they won’t disclose the related details about product and market to the public because of the serious competition.

Westport have initiated the cooperation with Volvo since November of 2009, and Westport will provide heavy duty natural gas engine for Volvo.
