Navistar cuts 250 workers as part of truck unit revamp
December 10,2008
Navistar International Corp, the U.S. truck and engine maker, told 250 salaried workers they will lose their jobs on Tuesday, a spokesman told Reuters.
The cuts are part of a revamp of the company's truck operations announced in November, a reorganization the company said was designed to align its operations with "market conditions," including "one of the worst North American truck markets in recent history."
Navistar employs 17,000 workers worldwide.
