ISUZU decides to end diesel engine cooperation with GM

(chinatrucks.com, Dec 24, 2010) CEO of ISUZU, Susumu Hosoi quotes “ISUZU will end the cooperation program of diesel engine with GM. GM will not notify the design of next generation diesel engine to ISUZU, and plans to independently develop diesel engine.
The worker staff and foundations put in the cooperation program of GM JV Company will be shifted to the truck production line wholly owned by ISUZU. Moreover, ISUZU plans to stop the production of pickup contracted in Thailand since the summer in 2011.
It is reported by router that ISUZU and GM will continue to produce engine in the JV Company of America and Poland. However, CEO of ISUZU, Susumu Hosoi quotes that it is unnecessary for both parties to corporately produce once ISUZU and GM have ended the technology cooperation.
