Navistar to Produce 1,000 Electric Light Trucks in 2012

www.chinatrucks.com: Navistar and American A123 Company have cooperated to produce electric power system, and A123 is providing pure electric power system for Navistar trucks. And the Li-ion battery chassis can run as far as 100 miles after charging. The Federal Government has granted 39.20 million US dollars to develop and produce pure electric trucks and the company plans to produce more than 1,000 such trucks till 2012.
