December 08,2011
www.chinatrucks.com: Tanker truck manufacturer Polar Tank Trailer is dealing with a strike at its Opole plant, which produces stainless steel, aluminum and carbon steel tankers for liquid bulk products.
The company's Holdingford, Minn. and Springfield, Mo. plants are unaffected by the strike, the company announced.
Polar says it has activated contingencies to ensure the continued production of tank trailers at the Opole plant. A deal with unionized workers at the plan expired Nov. 30.
"Investing in our employees is one way we can help our customers be more competitive and efficient," said Frank Lukacs, president of Polar Tank Trailer. "We're committed to negotiating an agreement that will benefit our employees and help us meet the quality, cost, and delivery expectations of our customers."
