Daimler commercial vehicle plant in India finished recently
April 23,2012
This is a wholly-owned subsidiary, and the plant is built in Dhennai on April 18, and 852 million USD have been invested to meet the booming needs of buses and trucks in India.
The annual output will amount to 5,000 units this year, and the largest output will amount to 72,000 units per year.
Mr. Marc Lilstosella said that the plant will start to export commercial vehicles since 2013, and 90% spare parts will be purchased locally till 2015.
Sales of commercial vehicles doubled to 800,000 units in the past six years, much higher than the growth of passenger cars, and the commercial vehicles are mainly produced by TATA, and it is hard for foreign auto company to grab market shares.
