Volvo CFO leads expansion in Asia
January 10,2008
World number two truck maker Volvo said on Wednesday that its chief financial officer will lead the group's expanding Asian truck business as of April this year.
Volvo CFO Par Ostberg will assume responsibility for the Asian operations when Deputy Chief Executive Jorma Halonen retires on April 1, the firm said in a statement. Halonen announced late last year he would leave the helm of the group's Asian truck business which Volvo has been keen to grow in recent years. It acquired Japan's Nissan Diesel last year and is in talks on linking up with Chinese vehicles group Dongfeng.
A new CFO to replace Ostberg would be appointed during the first quarter, Volvo said.
