Sinotruk to set up Russia heavy truck assembly plant

Sinotruk (Hong Kong) Ltd, a mainland heavy truck maker, plans to set up a heavy truck assembly plant in Russia with local partner Likhachev-AMO ZIL, the official Shanghai Securities News reported, citing sources close to the matter.
The plant will assemble Sinotruk's HOWO model for markets in Russia and nearby countries.
According to the report, Sinotruk agreed to sell 7,600 heavy duty trucks to Likhachev-AMO ZIL over the next 12 months.
Likhachev-AMO ZIL, established in 1916, is the second-largest heavy duty truck manufacturer in Russia.
