10 LNG Heavy Trucks Put into Use in Tongling

www.chinatrucks.com : Lately, 10 units of LNG heavy duty trucks were put into use in the city of Tongling, Anhui province.
In recent years, the transportation industry in Tongling has enjoyed fast development with a number of medium and big companies. In order to promote the campaign of lowering use of energy, the municipal authority advocates the companies to use natural gas trucks. And Jinxiong, a local transportation company became the first one to actually use natural gas trucks.
As the reporter inspected, the LNG trucks are very similar to average trucks in exterior appearance with only two additional LNG tanks. Since natural gas is cheaper and has many advantages, the engines could last longer than diesel engines.
The price of a LNG truck is ￥150,000 more expensive than a diesel truck. But, in the long term, 50% of energy could be saved, 20% of emission could be reduced, thus, the LNG truck could benefit the environment.
