New Dividend rules for chinese state owned companies

State-owned companies in the oil electricity telecommunications coal and tobacco industries must pay 10 percent of their profit to the government under new rules released on the Ministry of Finance website yesterday. Steel, transport, electronics, trade and construction companies must pay 5 percent of profit dividends, while defense companies can withhold dividends for three years, the ministry said.
