Windrose Electric Truck Gets Full Approval to Enter North America
September 10,2025

This certification clears the way for Windrose to officially enter the U.S. market, with deliveries scheduled to begin by the end of 2025. To date, Windrose’s electric trucks have already been deployed in 17 countries across four continents.
DOT certification is mandatory for all vehicles and components entering the U.S. market. It follows a system of “self-declaration with government oversight,” requiring companies to ensure their products meet U.S. safety and technical standards, submit compliance documentation, and display the DOT mark. Beyond the U.S., DOT certification is widely recognized across North America and has become an important benchmark for global transportation safety.
The certified model, the Windrose R700, was designed as a truly global truck, bridging the gap between European and American standards. Equipped with a 700+ kWh battery pack, it can deliver more than 600 km of range fully loaded, even at U.S. highway speeds of 100 km/h. Built on an 800V high-voltage platform, it supports megawatt-level fast charging that adds 400 km of range in just 35 minutes. The truck is also compatible with both CCS1 and MCS charging standards in North America. The first batch of vehicles will operate primarily on the I-5, I-10, I-15, and I-35 highways.
Achieving DOT certification marks a major milestone in Windrose’s “compliance first” strategy. It underscores the company’s strengths in rapid R&D, compatibility with both U.S. and European standards, and a resilient global supply chain. Windrose has also secured partnerships with U.S. charging leaders Terawatt and Greenlane, along with Cox Automotive—the world’s largest automotive service provider—to deliver robust after-sales support.
